A leading polymer business and integrated solution providers for sustainability, SCGC is empowering its employees to incorporate AI into their daily workflows. This initiative aims to enhance precision and agility, transforming the company into a fully AI-driven organization through 'AILY'—a project that enables every employee to leverage AI with internal data securely.

In this interview, we introduce Ravinsak ‘Ta’ Tatikhun, Assistant Manager - Rapid Application Development. As one of SCGC’s 'AI Champions' and a key contributor to the AILY project, he plays a pivotal role in driving the robust and continuous integration of AI for everyone within SCGC, pioneering its status as a premier AI-powered organization.
Sparked by Curiosity: An Engineer’s Path to AI

Before taking on my current role contributing to an AI-powered organization, I was an electrical engineer. My day-to-day work had nothing to do with AI at all, but I’ve always had a passion for technology and innovation. When ChatGPT launched, it really sparked my curiosity. So, while I kept up with my standard engineering routine, I started diving into AI on the side—driven purely by my own desire to learn, long before we fully embraced the vision of an AI-driven organization.

Beyond Efficiency: How AI Adds Real Value

Typically, electrical engineering revolves on system uptime and preventive maintenance, backed by decades of institutional knowledge. However, in the context of an AI-powered organization, AI has enhanced this process by acting as a smart analytics tool, helping us identify root causes and risks in granular detail so we can solve problems faster.

A clear game-changer is documentation. AI functions as a ‘personal secretary,’ handling the heavy lifting of writing reports. It’s not flawless, but it cuts down administrative time significantly. This frees us up to focus on what matters: system development, innovation, and deepening our professional expertise—the hallmark of a truly AI-driven organization.

Fueling AI Adoption: Turning Passion into Productivity

I believe passion is the most critical driver for learning anything new. Being a tech enthusiast, as soon as AI tools like ChatGPTor Midjourney launched, I jumped right in to experiment. That hands-on approach helped me build AI Literacy and kept self-learning exciting.

However, the transition to an AI-powered Organization plays a vital role in bridging the gap between Passion and Practice to create real on-the-job productivity. SCGC, for instance, is incredibly open and fully encourages us to utilize AI.

Through the AILY project, the company focuses on upskilling employees using two key levers: Automation (speeding up processes) and Augmentation (accelerating career growth from Junior to Senior, or Senior to Expert). Ultimately, it’s about training everyone to shift their perspective from simple ‘Workflow’ to ‘Data Flow,’ creating sustainable impact for a truly AI-driven Organization.

The Legal Team’s AI Awakening

There was one project with the legal team that truly served as an 'eye-opener.' Before we began the shift to an AI-powered organization, the team was bogged down manually reviewing hundreds—sometimes thousands—of legal documents every day. It was an incredibly time-consuming process, completely devoid of AI assistance.

When I stepped in to introduce them to AI tools, it was like flipping a switch. We used AI to aggregate relevant clauses and summarize key points, which drastically cut down their processing time. This experience taught me a crucial lesson: even if you aim to be an AI-driven organization, you still need a catalyst to drive practical usage. Without someone to guide those first steps, adoption moves slowly—or faces resistance—simply because people don't know where to start.

Why Human Judgment Still Matters

I firmly believe that Human Judgment remains paramount. No matter how intelligent AI becomes, ask yourself this: Why do global companies—all with access to the same AI tools—make completely different strategic decisions? That difference proves that, ultimately, humans are still one step ahead of the machine.

My advice for those looking to master AI within an AI-powered organization is to shift your perspective from Workflow to Data Flow. We are conditioned to think in Workflows—linear processes of how a task starts, proceeds, and ends. But to leverage AI effectively, you must visualize the Data Flow: At each stage, what specific data is entering the system? How is it being transformed? And where does it go next? This shift is crucial because different AI models excel at different capabilities. If you can grasp this distinction, you will be able to select the precise AI tool that fits the specific nature of your work, maximizing your efficiency and aligning with the goals of a truly AI-driven organization.

The journey of Ravinsak ‘Ta’ Tatikhun, Assistant Manager - Rapid Application Development, illustrates a fundamental truth: driving AI within an organization isn't just about technology—it’s about people equipped with determination and judgment. Through the AILY project, SCGC has created a space where employees can transform their personal curiosity into professional Practice that delivers tangible value to the company. This is the essence of the transition toward an Intelligent Organization, where AI serves as a powerful tool empowering teams to make smarter, more efficient business decisions
