Climate Emergency : The Waste-Free Community

Many people think that once they take out the trash, it’s forever gone. However, that is hardly the final destination of the trash. This is because a portion of unsorted waste will eventually find its way into rivers and canals and end up clogging drains, causing us a series of never-ending problems.

With its eyes set on putting waste separation on the agenda everywhere, the Waste-free Community of Map Ta Phut Municipality in Rayong has promoted waste sorting and educated local residents in order to develop a shared understanding that waste is more valuable than to simply be thrown away. The community members now separate waste for sale and recycling️, which not only reduces waste problems but also generates income for everyone.

To facilitate waste separation, SCG Chemicals has developed the application Koomkah, which allows for more efficient waste purchase planning, enhances convenience, and reduces waste sorting costs for local waste bank operators
