SCGC and Sirplaste Portugal Launches High Quality Odorless PCR HDPE Resin for Europe’s Growing Demand

Sirplaste, a member company of SCGC and a leading plastic recycling company in Portugal, announces its readiness to operate in a circular economy business in Europe for the production of High Quality Odorless PCR HDPE Resin or PCR HDPE, which is now being launched to support the environmentally friendly packaging market. With “SIRPRIME”, PCR HDPE resin made from 100% post-consumer waste used for the product group such as bottles, produced from high-performance recycling technology designed specifically to eliminate odors and contamination. Suitable for personal and household packaging. It has also been certified by EuCertPlast and RecyClass, European standards that verify the source of the raw materials to be from plastic that has been consumed as part of social responsibility. Since 2023, Sirplast, a member company of SCGC, has invested in recycling technology and successfully installed new machinery in Portugal as planned. This has increased the production capacity of High Quality PCR Resins by 9,000 tons per year, bringing the total production capacity to 45,000 tons per year. This will meet the growing demand for recycled plastics in Europe, particularly in the personal care and homeware sectors, while also satisfying the requirements of global brand owners.
