SCGC Presents the Success of Innovative Resin for BOPE Films in the Specialty Packaging Films Conference, Reinforcing the Trend of Recyclable Flexible Packaging

Business ESG Circular Economy Innovation Solutions Sustainability

The Specialty Packaging Films conference, organized by Applied Market Information (AMI), took place on February 28-29, 2024. It served as an international platform gathering experts in the flexible packaging film industry from around the globe to share knowledge and exchange experiences. This year, the focus of the event was on cutting-edge innovations in materials and film production techniques to develop more sustainable flexible packaging solutions.

As a market leader in eco-friendly materials, SCGC presented the innovation of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE resin), S197F, from SMXTM Technology for biaxially oriented polyethylene (BOPE) films. These films were developed to address the trend of mono-material packaging, with a polyethylene-based structure, enabling efficient recycling processes. Key features of the films include low Haze and Thermal Shrinkage values, making them suitable for printing, coating, and packaging process. They can be used as printing layers, replacing traditional materials like BOPET or BOPA (Nylon).
