Suchada Beach, Rayong Province – 26 June 2024: SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, or SCGC and Map Ta Phut Tank Terminal Company Limited, a subsidiary of SCGC, alongside Rayong Province, Map Ta Phut Municipality, and the local fishing community, has organized the "Shop Chim Rimlay” (Shop, Taste, by the Sea) community market event. This initiative aims to stimulate the local economy and tourism in the Pak Khlong Ta Kuan area and its neighboring communities. The market provides a platform for over 60 vendors, including fishing groups, community enterprises, shops, and small-scale entrepreneurs, to sell their products and generate income. The market is open from 26 to 30 June 2024, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at Pak Khlong Ta Kuan, Suchada Beach, Rayong Province.

Mongkol Hengrojanasophon, Chief Operations Officer of SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited (SCGC), said, "SCGC is committed to promoting and developing Rayong Province into a livable city where industry and community grow together economically, socially, and environmentally. This year’s event at Pak Khlong Ta Kuan, a significant identity of Rayong, is rich with the long-standing lives of the local small-scale fishing community, passed down through generations. The local fishermen have a deep sense of environmental stewardship, ensuring the marine ecosystem remains abundant and making this area a vital source of seafood and an important tourist destination. We would like to invite tourists to experience the lifestyle of the local fishing community and enjoy fresh seafood from Rayong."

Anusorn Saengkla, District Chief of Mueang Rayong, said, "Rayong Province is ready to support and promote all activities and channels that will help the people of Rayong grow economically alongside the industrial sector. This is a great opportunity to support local products from Rayong people, including fresh, new, and clean seafood, as well as high-quality goods from community enterprises. Additionally, the beaches in Rayong city are uniquely beautiful in each area, which serves as a key attraction and selling point. This will provide tourists with different experiences, encouraging repeat visits and fostering sustainable tourism that will boost the economy and improve the quality of life, while also taking care of the environment."

Tawin Photibuathong, Mayor of Map Ta Phut Municipality, said, "Map Ta Phut Municipality has long coexisted with industrial plants. The people of Map Ta Phut have continually collaborated with the industrialsector, promoting environmentalsustainability and supporting community income generation. Today's event demonstrates that the areas surrounding industrial plants possess natural beauty that can serve as tourist attractions. Visitors can buy high-quality seafood while enjoying the unique and picturesque natural scenery, comparable to other areas in Rayong. Therefore, Map Ta Phut Municipality, in collaboration with SCGC, has organized this community market to encourage tourism and the purchase of local products. These include goods from small-scale fishing groups, community enterprises, and local shops. This initiative will help raise awareness of the area, showcase the quality products of Map Ta Phut, and promote tourism."

The "Shop Chim Rimlay” community market not only offers a wide variety of products and food but also features many fun activities on stage, such as cooking competitions and seafood eating contests. A special highlight for food lovers is the seafood buffet priced at 99 baht, with grilling, stir-frying, and special dipping sauces provided (available in limited quantities). All proceeds from the buffet sales, without any deductions, will be donated by SCGC to the provincial fisheries department to purchase aquatic species for release into the marine ecosystem, helping to maintain the natural balance.

In addition, SCGC has mobilized volunteer employees for beach cleanups throughout the week, ensuring a beautiful landscape. Waste from the event will be sorted for proper management and recycling for further benefits, following the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) guidelines.
