Bangkok – 5 June 2024: Pruksa reaffirms its commitment to "Live well, Stay well," marking its 31st anniversary by joining hands with five environmental partners to advance the "Won @ PRUKSA" initiative into "Won Plus Recycle: Joining Forces for a Better World. Live well, Stay well." This initiative aims to expand the types of recyclable waste and improve waste management efficiency. Additionally, Pruksa encourages residents from 31 of its projects, encompassing over 9,666 families, to participate in proper waste sorting to reduce waste volume, combat global warming, and foster a more livable environment.

Piya Prayong, Chief Executive Officer of Pruksa Real Estate Public Company Limited, said that waste is an environmental issue and a cause of global warming. Part of the problem is improper waste sorting. Currently, Bangkok produces approximately 10,706 tons of waste per day, but only 3,672 tons can be separated for recycling. For this reason, Pruksa, committed to creating a well-being society and environment and integrating the ESG concept over the past three years, initiated the “Won @ PRUKSA” project to encourage residents to sort stretchable plastic waste for recycling. This initiative not only helps reduce environmental impact by decreasing waste but also lowers greenhouse gas emissions. Last year, the project recycled 235 kilograms of plastic, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 205 kgCO2e. On the occasion of Pruksa's 31st anniversary this year, the “Won @ PRUKSA” project has been advanced to "Won Plus Recycle: Joining Forces for a Better World. Live well, Stay well," which will include a wider variety of waste types and enhance waste management efficiency.

"We are committed to sustaining the environment, and we have set a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2030 and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The Won Plus Recycle initiative is a key strategy to help us reach this goal and reinforces our commitment to creating a livable environment. We anticipate that this project will enable us to recycle more than 500 kilograms of waste and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 435 kgCO2e," said Piya.

The Won Plus Recycle project is a collaborative effort between Pruksa, project juristic person management teams, and five environmental partners: Recycle Day Company Limited, TPBI Public Company Limited, SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited (SCGC), Titan Innovation Company Limited, and BS Glass Recycling Company Limited. The project has expanded the types of waste collected from just stretchable plastics to four categories: 1) PET, HDPE, and PP plastic bottles used for beverages and food packaging; 2) films and stretchable plastics; 3) electronic waste; and 4) glass bottles. The initiative encourages approximately 9,666 families from 31 Pruksa projects to participate in proper waste sorting for recycling through internationally standardized and environmentally friendly processes. The project is set to kick off on World Environment Day, 5th of June.
