Dr.Suracha Udomsak, Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Vice President- New Business, SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited (SCGC), joined a panel discussion entitled “Achieving Net Zero: Sustainable Finance Strategies for Climate Change” to exchange knowledge and experience on the pursuit of net zero at the 2023 Sustainability in Finance and Capital Market Development: Net Zero Transition Conference, hosted by Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University.
During the panel session, Dr.Suracha discussed how the cooperation of the business sector could contribute to decarbonization efforts. He also delved into the current challenges and how emerging technologies could accelerate the transition to net-zero carbon, such as the utilization of digital technology for energy efficiency improvement, carbon capture and storage, green hydrogen, and investments in new types of EV (electric vehicle) and industrial batteries. Dr.Suracha also encouraged the audience to take a holistic view of issues in collaboration with all stakeholders and develop corrective measures and alternatives suitable for society and the industry in order to drive the business on the basis of sustainability and restore balance to our world.
