Singapore — 6 July 2023 SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited or SCGC, a leading integrated chemical player in Asia and an innovator of chemical innovations and solutions, and Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW), an industry-founded and funded, non-governmental and non-profit organization with 70 companies from across the plastics value chain, released ‘2022 Progress Report’ demonstrating an evolved approach to measuring and reporting the impact the Alliance and its members have generated since formation in 2019.

With theme of ‘Catalysing Impact’, SCGC and AEPW’s 2022 Progress Report outlines multiple examples of how the Alliance and members are implementing solutions that address unique local challenges, ending leakage, and advancing greater circularity. The approach is to adapt and replicate successful ones in different contexts and geographies to accelerate impact in collaboration with the value chain, governments, financial institutions, and all other partners.  

The 2022 Progress Report: Catalysing Impact also includes SCGC’s commitment of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, reflecting the “Chemicals Business for Sustainability”. It has integrated ESG and circularity principles into business frameworks, expanded our portfolio of HVA products and environmentally friendly solutions ‘Green Polymer’ to meet global demand and customer needs, recycling technologies, as well as adopted digital technologies to strengthen operational excellence across the value chain. In addition, the story of effective waste management ‘Waste-free Community’ with its concrete results has been shared in this report.
