SCGC, IEAT, and FTI Join Forces to Promote Support for Waste Processors Complying with Eco Factory Standard

Sustainability

Bangkok: SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, Chemicals Business for Sustainability, reaffirms its commitment to sustainable supply chain management. This pledge is achieved by selecting waste processors certified under the Eco Factory for Waste Processor standard, an initiative spearheaded by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) 's Water and Environment Institute for Sustainability. This reiterates the company's leading role in the integrated chemical industry for sustainability, operating the business in harmony with environmental care and social responsibility. It aims to elevate the standard of industrial waste management by recycling it into raw materials beneficial for other industries, adhering to the principles of a circular economy. This aligns with the government's Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy policy, a strategic approach that helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the industrial sector and promotes sustainable development. Preeda Vatchratiensakul, Vice President-Manufacturing of SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, or SCGC, was present to express this commitment.

All SCGC's subsidiaries have been recognized and certified as Eco Factory, with the company being the first in Thailand to achieve 100% certification for all its factories since 2015. The company has been continuously sharing and extending these practices across the supply chain, including to other industrial factories, with a specific focus on waste management. SCGC has consistently communicated with its partners to acknowledge the shared policy of considering services from waste processors who have earned the Eco Factory for Waste Processor certification. This practice, initiated in 2025, brings about confidence in waste management throughout the entire supply chain.

The declaration to promote sustainable supply chain management by choosing waste processors certified with the Eco Factory for Waste Processor standard reflects a joint commitment among four parties: IEAT, FTI, the industrial group focused on environmental management, and industrial waste processors. The objective is to support and encourage all waste processors to obtain the certification with the Eco Factory for Waste Processor standard by 2025.
