SCG Chemicals or SCGC, a regional chemical market leader with the goal of business growth and sustainability, revealed that Green Innovation, exhibited at K 2022, the world's largest trade fair for plastics and rubber in Düsseldorf, Germany, attracted significant global attention as it aligns with global megatrends and the needs of users around the world, including partners and brand owners from many countries who seek plastic innovations and solutions based on circular economy principles, resource efficiency, and greenhouse gas reduction. This fosters competitive opportunities in the global market and expands plastic innovations for sustainability through collaborations.

Dr. Suracha Udomsak, Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer of SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, or SCGC, said, "SCGC has presented its innovation lineup at the K trade fair for more than ten years. This year, we are introducing the concept of 'INNOVATION THAT'S REAL' chemical innovations for all possibilities to showcase solutions and innovations that align with global megatrends and directions encompassing circular economy principles,  greenhouse gas emission reduction, and adoption of digital technology to make things more efficient. The highlights include green innovations under the brand SCGC GREEN POLYMER that provides solutions covering all aspects, meeting the needs of brand owners and consumers. Recyclable Packaging Solutions and High Quality Post-Consumer Recycled Resin (PCR), in particular, drew a great deal of interest from customers and partners, reflecting the global market's growth potential, especially in Europe and countries that value sustainability. In addition, innovations that address up-and-coming megatrends, such as energy-saving and pollution emission reduction in the automotive industry, urbanization, and the infrastructure industry, are given substantial consideration. Bringing SCGC's innovations to the attention of 157 countries or more than 176,000 participants provides customers and partners with an excellent opportunity to experience SCGC's innovations up close. This results in competitive opportunities on the global market and advances the development of green innovations and future opportunities."

"Another highlight that garnered special attention was a virtual tour of Long Son Petrochemicals, the first fully integrated petrochemical complex in Vietnam, which has adopted advanced technology throughout the process and paid close attention to safety and environmental friendliness. The project is a crucial starting point for the chemical industry in Vietnam and promotes the growth of downstream industries, thereby contributing to long-term economic growth and improving the quality of life of people in ASEAN," added Suracha.

In addition, SCGC co-hosted a seminar titled "Circular Packaging for Real" with Norner, a global market leader of industrial R&D services in polymers based in Norway, and the Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW), a global collaborative organization dedicated to addressing the issue of used plastics. The seminar covered eco-friendly packaging trends and solutions, industry collaboration to seek packaging solutions, and ways to develop future eco-friendly plastic innovations. The speakers at the seminar included representatives from AEPW, Amcor, Erema, Norner, SCGC, and Sirplaste. The talk was well received, and many interested parties exchanged opinions.
