Bangkok - 12 October 2022 SCGC has won an ISB Excellence Award and ISB DNA Award at the I-EA-T Sustainable Business Awards (ISB) 2022 hosted by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, reinforcing its leadership in the integrated petrochemical business for sustainability. SCGC has integrated sustainability into its business operation across all five major components, comprising governance, community, environment, workers, and customers, and has worked to foster a corporate culture of sustainability, driven by the executives and all personnel in the organization and passed on to its suppliers and partners.
On behalf of SCGC, Mr. Mongkol Hengrojanasophon, Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, and Ms. Namthip Samphowprasert, Brand Management & CSR Director, received the awards from IEAT Governor Mr. Veeris Ammarapala. Mr. Krisada Ruangchotevit, Head of ESG Office, also attended the event to present SCGC’s ISB Impact Story to the industrial operators in attendance.
Among SCGC’s highlighted CSR projects for the sustainability of communities was the SCGC Fish Home Project, which, based on a social impact analysis, earned social return on investment (SROI) of 5.69. It is a project that generates revenue for fishing communities while also restoring balance to Thailand’s marine ecosystems and fostering sustainability in a tangible manner.
