SCG Joins Forces with Big Brothers Alliance, Co-Hosting Pan Suk Market at 3rd Rayong Happiness Festival

Rayong - 3 October 2020 Chemicals Business, SCG, led by Mr. Paisan Lekskulchai, Managing Director of Map Ta Phut Olefins Company Limited, and Ms.Namthip Samphowprasert, Brand Management and CSR Director, jointly presided over an opening ceremony and attended a press conference of “Pan Suk Market at the 3rd Rayong Happiness Festival.” 

The project is a collaborative effort between Rayong provincial authority and an alliance network of 12 organizations, namely SCG, CentralPlaza Rayong, Community Partnership Association, PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited, Dow Thailand Group, Vinythai Public Company Limited, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, PatPat Shop (Chaipattana Foundation), Department of Industrial Promotion, Central Pattana Public Company Limited, Central Group, and National Research Council of Thailand. This year, the event is themed “Pan Suk Market” offering a wide range of local produce from Rayong communities. The event serves as an open marketplace for communities to promote their local products at CentralPlaza Rayong mall in October and November. The event’s first phase takes place on 2-8 October 2020 at Promotion 1 Venue (PD).

Over the past four years, the network has promoted income generation in the communities by supporting them to earn more from production and local products and services. The goal is to promote social enterprise (SE) development within the communities where the acquired revenues and profits will be used to solve social issues and encourage developments in communities, society, natural resources and the environment in a broad range of aspects from education, environment, reforestation, poverty, drugs, and quality of life. This social enterprise model will stimulate economic development in communities and help them thrive with stability and sustainability while reducing inequality and environmental degradation. Taking part as “Big Brothers,” businesses will support readiness and provide their expertise on management, academics, technologies, and financial support to meet the grounds of community availability, potential, identity, and local wisdom. The project is to deliver smiles and happiness for those who joined the program.
