SCG Joins Hands with 11 Partnering Organizations to Kick Off “Big Brothers” Project to Promote Social Enterprise for Fourth Year Running

Nonthaburi – 28 August 2020 SCG strives to build healthy and sustainable communities and fosters the communities around the factory site toward quality community-based enterprise by introducing and integrating innovations, technologies, and the circular economy into the local identity for local product development. The effort also includes creating a new online marketplace amid the COVID-19 crisis.

SCG, in collaboration with 11 partnering organizations, has recently kicked off the fourth year of the project “Big Brothers” to promote social enterprise. The project aims to boost community-based enterprises to drive sustainable economic growth and cultivate a sense of social-mindedness among new entrepreneurs where the profits from sales will be used to solve community issues and support community development.

The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, who presided over the ceremony and gave a speech on the topic of “Strong Community, Progressive Society, and Sustainable Development.” Mr. Somchai Wangwattanapanich, Advisor to SCG President, also joined the opening ceremony at the head office of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand in Bang Kruai.
