Mr. Supant Mongkolsuthree, Chairman of The Federation of Thai Industries, and executives from 19 corporate associate members of PPP Plastics were in attendance.

The project “Magic Hands x Won by PPP Plastics” is initiated by the Public-Private Partnership for Sustainable Plastic and Waste Management (PPP Plastics) and Won Project which aims to establish drop points for used plastic bags and plastic films of 12 plastic types, including shopping bags, plastic grocery bags, diaper wrap packaging, case overwrap, milk carton overwrap, bubble wrap, plastic shipping envelopes, bread bags, ziplock medicine bags, ice bags, and vegetable or fruit bags. These used plastic items will be recycled into polyethylene resins and remanufactured into plastic bags, shopping bags, and plastic products. The effort is to prevent these plastic items from escaping into the environment or landfill on top of reducing marine pollution from plastics and promoting resource efficiency and recycling in line with the circular economy. At the initial phase, about 300 Won’s drop points for 12 plastic types will be placed in Bangkok and vicinities, Chonburi, and Rayong province by June 2020. The project will be extended to neighboring and other provinces in the future.
