SCG Joins Hands With BST Offering 400,000 Medical Gloves Worth 1.2 Million Baht to Hospitals in Rayong

Rayong - 28 April 2020  Mr. Mongkol Hengrojanasophon, Vice President of Chemicals Business, SCG, and an executive committee of Bangkok Synthetics Company Limited (BST), along with the management teams of Chemicals Business, SCG, and Bangkok Synthetics Company Limited, together donated 400,000 medical gloves worth 1,200,000 Baht to hospitals and sub-district health promotion hospitals in Rayong province. The donated items are intended to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection among healthcare workers.  Mr. Yongyuth Ongartittichai, Deputy Rayong Governor and Mrs. Sutatip Wungsisiripech, Deputy Public Health Doctor of Rayong, received the handout.

Mr. Mongkol Hengrojanasophon said, "Chemicals Business, SCG, joined BST, the Thailand's only synthetic nitrile latex producer, to develop nitrile medical gloves with properties of similar resilience to natural rubber, high performance, durability, and improved puncture resistance, which prevent permeation better than natural rubber gloves. Moreover, it can prevent latex protein allergy caused by natural latex gloves. These gloves will effectively limit infection risks and provide increased safety among healthcare workers while offering medical care.”

Mr. Yongyuth Ongartittichai, Deputy Rayong Governor, said, "Although the COVID-19 situation has improved, we have to continue to strictly adhere to public health measures to prevent the second wave of infections. Having medical protective gear for healthcare workers prepared and available is highly essential. Medical gloves are crucial tools to reduce the risk of exposure to the virus. I would like to thank BST and SCG for donating medical gloves to hospitals and sub-district health promotion hospitals in Rayong province in an effort to support public health work and keep Rayong's healthcare workers safe."
