SCG Provides Innovative Protective Equipment “Aerosol Box” to Help 9 Hospitals in Rayong in Bid to Fight COVID-19

Rayong – March 29, 2020 Chemicals Business, SCG, led by Mr. Paisan Lekskulchai, Managing Director of Map Ta Phut Olefins Company Limited, along with Mr. ‎Siripan Artnonla‎ from Thai MMA Company Limited, Mr. Kosit Noorit from Nawaplastic Industries Company Limited, and Mr. Thitipun Vongareesawat from Map Ta Phut Olefins Company Limited, provided 70 innovative aerosol boxes to the Rayong Provincial Public Health Office. The aerosol boxes will later be distributed to 9 hospitals in Rayong. The aerosol box is a useful tool to control the spread of COVID-19 from patients to others and reduce the risk of infection in healthcare providers. Dr. Sunthorn Rheanpumikankit, a doctor at Rayong Health Public Health Office and Mr. Somsak Ketsakorn, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization, formally received the handover.

The aerosol box is designed to serve two purposes:

  1. Aerosol Box is made of Shinkolite acrylic sheet to safeguard healthcare providers while performing intubations or medical procedures. Exhibiting qualities of transparency, hygiene and clarity without dust or impurities, the aerosol box is used to cover a head of a patient with respiratory failure during endotracheal intubation.
  2. SCG’s DIY Aerosol Guard set consisting of a base structure using SCG’s PVC pipes and fittings, plastic film barriers that help protect personnel against aerosols. The equipment set is easy to assemble and lightweight. The plastic film barriers can be changed after use.

Remarks: 9 hospitals in Rayong are Rayong Hospital, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Medical Center Rayong, Khao Chamao Hospital, Klaeng Hospital, Wangchan Hospital, Bankhai Hospital, Ban Chang Hospital, Pluak Daeng Hospital, and Nikhom Phatthana Hospital.
