Bangkok – 17 February 2020 Chemicals Business, SCG, represented by Mr. Thongchai Ngamngernwan, Procurement and Materials Management Manager, received the ISO 20400:2017 certification for responsible practices in sustainable procurement under ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement 2018, becoming the first Thailand’s chemicals manufacturer in the industry to obtain the certification.
ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement – Guidance provides guidance on integrating sustainable procurement to assist organizations in formulating procurement policy and strategies and the supply chain compliant with international standards. The certified organization will play an exemplary role in sustainable procurement to other companies in Thailand. Besides, the certification has established standards to promote cost reduction and innovation development as procurement activities could have an impact on the organization, employees, reputation, stakeholder relations, as well as the economy, environment, and society.
