SCGC and EXAT Showcase Cable Inspection Robot and Highway Sound Barrier for Transport Infrastructure Maintenance

The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) led by EXAT governor Narong Gieddech (4th left) and SCG Chemicals led by Somchai Wangwattanapanich, Vice President – Operations (3rd left) together revealed the progress of their innovations under MoU for Research and Development, namely "Highway Sound Barrier" and "Cable Inspection Robot."

The Highway Sound Barrier will help maintain transportation infrastructure as well as efficiently reduce noise pollution and eliminate nuisance to residential communities. On top of that, it also contains rubber aimed to promote Thai rubber farmers and add values to Thai agricultural products. Furthermore, Cable Inspection Robot is another innovative product that is specially designed for EXAT to improve the efficiency and precision of cable inspection operations for cable-stayed bridges and reduce man-hours on site with enhanced safety.

These two innovations have demonstrated SCG Chemicals' commitment in capitalizing its expertise in material sciences, engineering design and advanced robotic technology to bring about innovative and technological solutions.
