Bangkok – 24 September 2026: SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, together with 12 companies under the SCGC group, has met guidance on sufficiency economy for industries, TIS 9999, verified by the Management System Certification Institute (MASCI), a network institute under the Ministry of Industry. TIS 9999 translates the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy into practical approaches for business and industrial organizations, enabling them to integrate the philosophy into management and operations. The standard promotes a balance between growth and efficiency, risk management, society, and the environment, while strengthening organizational resilience and the ability to adapt sustainably to change. Mr. Jongrak Rojpalasatean, Director of the Management System Certification Institute (MASCI), presented the certificates to Mr. Sakchai Patiparnpreechavud, Chief Executive Officer and President of SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited or SCGC, together with the managing directors of the 12 companies.

TIS 9999, the guidance on sufficiency economy for industries, administered by MASCI, a network institute under the Ministry of Industry, carries forward the royal aspiration of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great to apply the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy toward the sustainable development of businesses, industries, and Thai society. The standard applies the principles of the "3 components and 2 conditions", which includes moderation, reasonableness, and good immunity, supported by the conditions of knowledge and morality. These principles enable organizations to anticipate risks, prepare for uncertainty, adapt, and make appropriate decisions. In an increasingly volatile and uncertain world, building resilience helps organizations maintain competitiveness, identify new opportunities, and move their businesses forward with greater stability and sustainability.

Mr. Sakchai Patiparnpreechavud, Chief Executive Officer and President of SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited or SCGC said, “Applying the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy to business management does not mean limiting growth or stepping away from competition. Rather, it means pursuing growth with reason, prudence, and resilience. At the heart of this approach is continuous risk assessment—understanding our own capabilities and recognizing both opportunities and risks, while using data to support sound decision-making. This enables the organization to move forward prudently, stay ahead of changing circumstances, continuously improve, and achieve stable growth.”

“In today’s rapidly changing business environment, failing to adapt is itself a business risk. SCGC therefore places equal importance on maintaining competitiveness and strengthening risk and business continuity management. We leverage digital technologies, AI, and innovation to enhance operational efficiency and optimize resource utilization, while using data as the foundation for planning and decision-making. At the same time, we continuously develop our people and conduct business with strong governance and responsibility. These practices enable the organization to stay alert to both opportunities and risks, adapt effectively to change, and move toward balanced, prosperous, and sustainable growth,” Mr. Sakchai added.
