CPPC in the CP Group, and SCGC Launch ASEAN’s First Food-Grade Recycled Pet Food Packaging from Advanced Recycling Technology

Bangkok, 3 August 2026 – CPPC Public Company Limited (CPPC), the packaging business under Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), has joined forces with SCG Chemicals (SCGC), a leading integrated polymer and solution business for sustainability, to launch ASEAN’s first food-grade recycled pet food packaging made from Advanced Recycling technology. The innovative packaging is safe for pet food contact while contributing to environmental sustainability.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the pet food industry through the development of food-grade recycled packaging that is safe for food contact for both humans and pets and certified under the ISCC PLUS standard across the supply chain. The partnership combines CPPC’s packaging manufacturing expertise with SCGC’s Advanced Recycling technology, which converts post-consumer plastic waste into Circular Naphtha and subsequently into high-quality Certified Circular Polyolefin Resin under the SCGC GREEN POLYMER™ brand. These recycled resins offer properties equivalent to virgin plastics, enabling the production of safe and reliable pet food packaging without harmful chemicals or residues that could contaminate food. In addition, the solution helps reduce plastic waste and greenhouse gas emissions tangibly.

The food-grade recycled pet food packaging developed through the CPPC–SCGC partnership has been commercially implemented since 2024. To date, it has helped avoid more than 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) emissions compared with landfill disposal or incineration, equivalent to planting more than 100,000 trees.
