SCGC and IEAT Sign MoU to Advance Closed-Loop Resource Management Positioning the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate Complex as a Model for the Circular Economy

22 July 2026 – Bangkok : SCGC continues to advance industrial development alongside environmental and community stewardship under its Green Manufacturing approach. SCGC and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Closed-Loop Resource and Waste Management in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate Complex. The collaboration aims to establish a model for efficient resource utilization, reduce waste generation, and promote the circulation of resources for further use, thereby advancing the circular economy across the industrial sector.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry, and attended by executives from eight companies under SCGC group: Thai Polyethylene Co., Ltd. (TPE); Thai Plastic and Chemicals Public Company Limited (TPC); Map Ta Phut Tank Terminal Co., Ltd. (MTT); Rayong Terminal Co., Ltd. (RTC); Rayong Olefins Co., Ltd. (ROC); Thai MMA Co., Ltd. (TMMA); Circular Plas Co., Ltd.; and Grand Siam Composites Co., Ltd. (GSC).

The collaboration will enhance resource management across the industrial sector by connecting resource utilization among factories within the industrial estate and promoting the reuse and circulation of materials. It will help reduce waste volumes and greenhouse gas emissions associated with waste transportation and disposal, while improving environmental quality and creating benefits for surrounding communities. At the same time, the initiative will contribute to strengthening the industrial sector’s competitiveness and supporting sustainable growth.
