SCGC Supports "Rayong Zero Food Waste" Showcasing an Integrated Waste Management Model to Empower Youth and Communities, Driving Rayong toward a Circular Economy

SCGC supported Rayong Zero Food Waste 2026: "Rayong Mai The Ruam": Knowledge & Experience Expo, a learning and experiential exhibition on waste management. At the event, SCGC showcased its expertise and innovations in integrated waste management while sharing successful practices with government agencies, local communities, schools, and the industrial sector. The initiative aims to strengthen waste separation at source, promote efficient resource utilization, and support Rayong's transformation into a model city for a sustainable Circular Economy. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Kanchai Thepworachai, Deputy Governor of Rayong Province, and attended by executives from government agencies, local administrative organizations, industrial sectors, and partner organizations.

At the event, Mr. Paisan Lorpongpaiboon, Head of Circular Economy, SCGC, joined a panel discussion to share SCGC's experience in implementing integrated waste management. SCGC also hosted an exhibition booth demonstrating its comprehensive waste management approach—from encouraging waste separation at source, where everyone can play a role, to showcasing recycling innovations that transform used resources into higher-value products, reflecting the practical implementation of circular economy principles.

SCGC is committed to advancing sustainable waste management under the concept of “Resource Maximization, Correct Sorting, and Proper Disposal”. The company promotes waste segregation at source through the Bangsue Model, which has been successfully expanded to SCGC manufacturing sites in Rayong Province, enabling the company to achieve its Zero Waste to Landfill targets and significantly enhance waste management performance.

SCGC also extends its knowledge beyond its operations by working closely with schools to cultivate environmental awareness among young people. The company has developed the "Waste Wittaya Kids Box," an educational toolkit that can be integrated into school curricula through the interactive "Play & Learn about Waste" activities, helping students gain hands-on experience in waste separation and Circular Economy concepts. In addition, through the School Milk Packaging Collection Program, used milk pouches, cartons, and bottles are collected and properly sorted before being recycled through a closed-loop recycling system, maximizing resource efficiency throughout the value chain and transforming waste into valuable resources once again.
