Rayong, Thailand – SCG Chemicals (SCGC) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the seventh phase of the Vocational Chemical Engineering Practice College (V-ChEPC) project. This strategic collaboration between industrial partners and educational institutions aims to revolutionize Thai vocational education by integrating classroom learning with hands-on industrial experience.

Established in 2008, the V-ChEPC project was designed to bridge the skill gap between academic training and labor market demands. To date, SCGC has contributed a total of 42 million THB in the program, benefiting over 500 students through a curriculum tailored for the petrochemical sector—a vital driver of Thailand’s economy.

Key Highlights of the V-ChEPC Project:

    • Action-Based Learning. The curriculum is continuously updated to meet global technological standards, prioritizing practical experience and professional problem-solving skills in real-world environments.
    • Career Opportunities. The program has successfully placed over 160 interns within SCGC, with a high majority transitioning into full-time employees, highlighting the program’s effectiveness in developing industry-ready talent.
    • Sustainable Knowledge Transfer. Beyond student development, SCGC focuses on upskilling educators and vocational staff to ensure the sustainable delivery of high-level technical knowledge.
SCGC believes that investing in “people” is the cornerstone of driving the petrochemical industry and Thailand's overall economic growth, the company stated. This MOU reaffirms our commitment to fostering innovation alongside high-quality human capital to ensure sustainability across all dimensions.
