In the piping industry, there is an increasing demand for materials that can withstand high temperatures, high pressure, and corrosion, while ensuring long-term reliability with low production and installation costs. These requirements have continuously driven growing interest in CPVC pipes and fittings in the global market.

Today, CPVC pipes and CPVC fittings are widely used across various industries, including: Hot water piping systems, Building plumbing systems, Industrial piping systems, Fire sprinkler systems and applications requiring high material stability under demanding conditions

As a result, CPVC is no longer just an alternative material. It is becoming a key material for manufacturers aiming to enhance product quality and meet increasingly demanding application requirements.

What is CPVC?

CPVC Resin (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride)is a polymer produced by chlorinating PVC resin to enhance its heat resistance and chemical resistance. Typically, standard PVC resin contains about 56.7% chlorine. After undergoing the chlorination process to become CPVC resin, the chlorine content increases to approximately 63%–69%. Key characteristics of CPVC include: High heat resistance (up to 95°C) and Excellent chemical corrosion resistance. Because of these properties, CPVC is widely used in applications such as: Hot water pipes, Industrial piping systems, Fire sprinkler systems, and other demanding piping applications.

PVC Resin for CPVC Resin Production

Selecting the right PVC resin for producing CPVC resin is extremely important. The chlorination process involves introducing chlorine into the molecular structure of PVC. Therefore, the base PVC resin must allow chlorine gas to penetrate evenly into the particles to ensure consistent chemical reactions. This ensures the production of high-quality and uniform CPVC resin. The ideal characteristics of PVC resin for CPVC production include:

    • High porosity
    • Uniform particle size
    • High purity with low residual impurities
    • Good initial thermal stability.
