Amway Partners with SCGC to Drive Circular Economy by Upcycling Used Plastic Packaging into Student Desks and Chairs Presented to Border Patrol Police School Sub-Division 11, Raising Environmental Awareness among Thai Youth

Bangkok- 3 December 2025: Mr. Tossaporn Nisthanon (fourth from left), Managing Director of Amway (Thailand) Co., Ltd., together with Ms. Unchalee Mulalee (fourth from right), Head of ESG, SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, or SCGC, presented student desks and chairs produced from upcycled Amway plastic packaging. This initiative aims to help address the shortage of classroom furniture in remote schools while fostering awareness among children and youth about the importance of maximizing resource efficiency in line with circular economy principles. The project also promotes social responsibility, particularly in supporting long-term environmental sustainability. Pol. Col. Nattawat Phuwattantikarn (third from left), Deputy Commander of Border Patrol Police Region 1, presided over the handover ceremony and accepted 200 sets of student desks and chairs. These will be used in the classrooms of two Border Patrol Police Schools under the Border Patrol Police Sub-Division 11 in Chanthaburi Province, namely Ban Nam Daeng Border Patrol Police School (supported by Amway) in Khlung District, and Ban Khlong Mali Prawet Wittaya Border Patrol Police School in Makham District.

This achievement has been made possible through the collaborative efforts of Amway customers, members, and Amway Business Owners who returned their used plastic packaging for sustainable upcycling through SCGC’s recycling innovations. The material has been transformed into durable, long-lasting desks and chairs.

This approach not only maximizes the value of resources, reduces waste, and lowers greenhouse gas emissions, but also serves as a practical learning tool that helps young people appreciate the importance of the circular economy. It inspires them to recognize the power of responsible resource use in contributing to a better world throughout their learning and development. The initiative reflects Amway’s vision of conducting business alongside environmental and social responsibility, while delivering positive and sustainable value to future generations.
