SCGC received the “Nature Positive Stewardship Award” from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment at the Thailand Nature Positive Forum 2026, held under the theme “Driving Business Toward a Nature-Positive Future.” The event was organized by the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP) in collaboration with the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (BEDO). The award honors organizations with outstanding contributions to biodiversity conservation, restoration, and promotion in Thailand. The award was presented by Dr. Raweewan Bhuridej, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and received on behalf of SCGC by Dr. Pichet Tangpanyarat, Vice President – Industrial Solutions & Partnership. This recognition highlights SCGC’s role as an industry leader driving business growth alongside tangible nature positive outcomes.

SCGC is the first organization in Thailand to conduct a biodiversity baseline study in mangrove ecosystems under the Premium T-VER carbon credit project in Rayong Province. By applying scientific data to systematically manage and monitor ecosystem restoration, SCGC discovered over 60 aquatic species listed as threatened in the IUCN Red List, including Giant Freshwater prawns, Mud crabs, and Chinaman fish. These findings reflect the richness of biodiversity and the success of ecosystem restoration in the area.

In addition, SCGC plays a key role in advancing Thailand’s biodiversity agenda through collaboration with government, industry, academia, and civil society. This includes supporting the development of national action plans, studying approaches to build a biodiversity economy, advancing knowledge, and promoting the nature positive concept across Thai businesses. SCGC has also contributed to establishing and driving biodiversity working groups under the Federation of Thai Industries and the Petroleum and Energy Institute to foster biodiversity conservation and restoration within the industrial sector.

Winning the Nature Positive Stewardship Award 2026 underscores SCGC’s commitment as a leading integrated chemical business for sustainability, continuously advancing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices. By integrating innovation and eco-friendly solutions with biodiversity restoration, SCGC creates shared value for the economy, society, and environment—ensuring a healthy ecosystem for future generations.
