Wake Up Waste Drives Sustainable Waste Management at the 5th annual “SOOKSIAM Suk Rak Lok” at ICONSIAM

Bangkok, 8 September 2026 — Wake Up Waste, a recycling waste management and waste compactor truck service startup by SCGC, in collaboration with SookSiam at ICONSIAM and public and private sector partners, joins forces to promote sustainable waste management at the 5th annual “SOOKSIAM Suk Rak Lok”, held under the concept of “Living Thai, Living Green” at SookSiam, G Floor, ICONSIAM. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, reflecting the collaboration among all sectors in promoting responsible waste management, efficient resource utilization, and a more environmentally friendly society.

The event features activities that encourage the public to take part in environmental protection through the Green Community zone and a dedicated waste management station, promoting waste segregation at source. The event also advances the principles of the circular economy through the “Green Merchant” project, which collects used plastic bottles for upcycling into aprons for merchants operating at SookSiam.

Wake Up Waste purchases sorted recyclable waste from SookSiam and channels it into efficient recycling and upcycling processes. The company also provides an educational booth offering knowledge and practical information on waste management and recycling throughout the 5th annual “SOOKSIAM Suk Rak Lok”. The public is invited to visit the event from 4–30 September 2026 at SookSiam, G Floor, ICONSIAM.
