16 October 2026 – Bangkok : Map Ta Phut Tank Terminal Co., Ltd. (MTT), a subsidiary of SCGC, received a Merit Award at the 11th Customs Diamond Awards, held under the theme “Driving the Innovation Ecosystem towards an Innovative Organization” and organized by the Customs Department. The award recognized the collaborative project with the Map Ta Phut Customs Office featuring the “Closed Loop Manual Dip”, an innovation developed by MTT to enhance operational safety, protect workers’ health, and support environmental stewardship. The award ceremony was presided over by Direk Kacharak, Deputy Director-General of the Customs Department, who also presented the award. Witoon Pradubsripetch, Managing Director of Map Ta Phut Tank Terminal Co., Ltd. and Rayong Terminal Co., Ltd., together with Chulalak Yuttithamsakul, Acting Technical Specialist for Goods Inspection, Map Ta Phut Customs Office, represented the project in receiving the award.

The “Closed Loop Manual Dip” innovation was developed to upgrade the measurement of product levels inside storage tanks to a closed system, thereby enhancing safety in operations involving hydrocarbon products. The system helps reduce the possibility of direct exposure and inhalation of product vapors by operators, while also helping to minimize vapor and odor emissions to the surrounding atmosphere and nearby areas. The innovation contributes to higher operational standards in safety, occupational health, and environmental management. The project also marks a pilot initiative by the Customs Department for collaboration between the public sector and industry, aimed at promoting innovation that can enhance both operational safety and efficiency.

Mr. Witoon Pradubsripetch, Managing Director of Map Ta Phut Tank Terminal Co., Ltd. and Rayong Terminal Co., Ltd., said “MTT places strong emphasis on continuously applying knowledge, expertise, and innovation to improve our work processes, with the aim of enhancing safety for our people while minimizing environmental impacts. We are pleased and honored to have participated in this project. The innovation developed by MTT has been further applied in actual joint operations, making this a meaningful pilot project that demonstrates the strength of public-private collaboration. We believe this can serve as an important model for further enhancing operational standards, efficiency, and sustainability in the future.”

The award reflects the continued commitment of SCGC and MTT to applying knowledge, technology, and innovation to improve operational processes, with a strong focus on employee safety alongside environmental and community focus.
