Jakarta, Indonesia (15 October 2026) – Thai Polyethylene Company Limited, a subsidiary of SCG Chemicals (SCGC), has been awarded the Indonesia Halal Certificate, covering 453 product grades across SCGC™ HDPE, SCGC™ LLDPE, SCGC™ LDPE, SCGC™ PP, SCGC™ PE WAX, SCGC™ HDPE COMPOUND, SCGC™ LLDPE COMPOUND, SCGC™ PLASTIC COMPOUND, SCGC GREEN POLYMER™ and ACTIVE PLUS™ product brands. This certification enables SCGC to better serve customers across various industries seeking halal-compliant materials and packaging solutions, while enhancing access to the rapidly growing global Muslim market.

The certificate presentation ceremony was officiated by H. Faisal Saimima, MM, Deputy Secretary-General of Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) and Commissioner of Sucofindo and Dr. Muhammad Aqil Irham, M.Si, Principal Secretary of Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal (BPJPH), who presented the certificate to Mr. Saksit Chongcharoen, President Director of PT. Nusantara Polymer Solutions, representative of Thai Polyethylene Company Limited at the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event was also honored by the presence of H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia and distinguished guests from both Thailand and Indonesia.

Receiving the Indonesia Halal Certificate marks another significant milestone for SCGC in elevating its products to internationally recognized standards. Halal certification extends beyond the food industry to encompass raw materials, packaging, and materials used throughout the manufacturing value chain. Certified products must be free from prohibited substances under Islamic law, while production, storage, and transportation processes must be carefully controlled to prevent contamination from non-halal materials.

This certification reinforces confidence among customers, business partners, and stakeholders throughout the supply chain, while enhancing competitiveness and creating new business opportunities in the expanding halal economy. The achievement is particularly significant in Indonesia, home to the world's largest Muslim population and one of the most important halal markets globally.
