5 June 2026 – Rayong: SCGC, a leading integrated polymer and solutions provider for sustainability, is advancing marine conservation and the restoration of Thailand’s marine resources through the “SCGC Fish Home” - an innovation designed to enhance marine biodiversity and restore the richness of coastal ecosystems. The initiative was showcased at the “World Oceans Day 2026” event under the theme “Our Ocean, Our Future”, organized by the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Office 1 (Rayong). Mr. Kanchai Thepworachai, Rayong Deputy Governor, presided over the ceremony and presented certificates at Laem Charoen Beach, Rayong Province.

Over the past 15 years, SCGC has collaborated with the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, local fishing communities, government agencies, university researchers, and a nationwide network of more than 42,000 volunteers to deploy SCGC Fish Homes across coastal areas in Rayong, Chonburi, Chanthaburi, Trat, and Ranong provinces. Survey results have shown a continuous increase in marine biodiversity, with as many as 284 marine species identified in the project areas. Notably, the number of economically fish species has nearly tripled, reflecting the recovery of marine ecosystem abundance and biodiversity. The initiative has also contributed to long-term food security by ensuring sustainable seafood resources for Thai, while generating income and strengthening livelihoods for more than 500 small-scale fishing families. These outcomes strongly reflect the power of cross-sector collaboration in driving the sustainable restoration of Thailand’s marine ecosystems.
