Bangkok, 20 April 2026 – SCG Chemicals or SCGC, led by Mr. Sakchai Patiparnpreechavud CEO and President, provided an update on the company’s feedstock procurement for plastic resin production. Recently, one of the two feedstock (naphtha) vessels previously delayed in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz has now safely passed through the area following diplomatic efforts by the Thai government.

The company would like to express its sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, the Embassy of Iran in Thailand, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Sultanate of Oman, and all other relevant parties for their invaluable assistance and strong support in this matter.

Regarding the second vessel, the shipping operator is currently continuing to assess the situation, as conditions in the area remain sensitive. SCGC remains hopeful that the Strait of Hormuz will stay open on a sustained basis over the long term.

However, the conflict situation in the Middle East remains volatile and uncertain. SCGC continues to closely monitor developments and is accelerating its strategic adjustments to respond to the situation on an ongoing basis. The company is prioritizing the procurement of feedstock from alternative sources, as well as maximizing the efficiency of raw material management and production operations, with a focus on the domestic market. These measures will help ease the tight supply of plastic resin in Thailand and mitigate the impact on customers and related businesses throughout the supply chain.
