SCGC Collaborates with PCS to Introduce Advanced Phase Change Material, Thailand's First Energy-Saving Solution for Cold Storage Applications

North Carolina and Bangkok - Recently, Texplore Company Limited, a subsidiary of SCG Chemicals (SCGC), has joined forces with Phase Change Solutions (PCS), a leading smart materials company, to develop advanced phase change materials, an innovative thermal management platform, that can absorb heat and regulate the temperature in cold storage warehouses, marking the first of its kind in Thailand. This innovation meets the needs of cold storage applications, preserving the quality and extending the shelf life of products, reduces energy consumption, lowers electricity costs, and effectively reduces carbon dioxide emissions.

This innovation, developed from by-products of SCGC's polyolefin production and PCS's engineered materials technology can maintain a consistent temperature throughout the process and can be adjusted to a temperature range from -65°C to +175°C, depending on specific requirements. This makes it an ideal solution for cold chain logistics and cold storage applications, such as pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and frozen seafood.
