TMMA under SCGC Inks MMA3 Design and Construction Contract to Expand Business and Increase Annual Capacity to 10,000 tons

Thai MMA Co., Ltd. under SCGC, led by Mr. Atsunori Koshirai, Managing Director, and Mr. Siripan Artnonla, Deputy Managing Director, along with Mr. Somyod Sombatchaisak, Project Director, and Mr. Pitsanu Khempet, Project Manager, signed a contract for the design and construction of methacrylic acid production unit 3 (MAA#3) with TTCL Plc., a long-standing expert on engineering design and manufacturing plant construction. The construction is scheduled to begin in 2023, with the commercial operation planned to commence in August 2024. The objective is to increase 10,000 tons of the annual methacrylic acid (MAA) production capacity to meet the rising demand for MMA in Southeast Asia as well as to build on existing innovations and expand the company’s HVA portfolio.

Thai MMA Co., Ltd. under SCGC (TMMA) is Southeast Asia’s only producer of MMA, a raw material for nitrile butadiene latex (NBL) for use in medical nitrile glove production and an additive for industrial coating resin.
