RIL Industrial Estate of Chemicals Business, SCG, Certified Eco-World Class for 2 Years in a Row, Moving Towards Advancing Industrial Real Estate to Improve Communities' Quality of Life and Environment

Bangkok - 24 September 2020 RIL 1996 Company Limited has been certified "Eco-World Class" at the highest tier with the highest score by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), Ministry of Industry. The achievement has marked a significant milestone as the company has obtained such an honor in two consecutive years, exemplifying excellent performance in running an industrial estate that put a core emphasis on improving the quality of life and environment. Mr. Suwit Wisitworanat, Managing Director of RIL 1996 Company Limited, and Mr. Rongrit Kusonlakumbot, Director of Office of Joint-Management Industrial Estate of Map Ta Phut Complex collectively, received the certification from Ms. Somjin Piluek, Governor of the Industrial at "ECO Innovation Forum 2020" in BITEC Bangna.

Mr. Suwit Wisitworanat, Managing Director of  RIL 1996 Company Limited, said, "Over the past years, all plants in RIL industrial estate have been certified Eco-Factory, and two petrochemical plants have achieved 'Green Industry Level 5,' the highest rating of Green Industry status. The regular knowledge exchange between SCG and GC has, through networking and collaboration, has brought about the adoption of the globally accepted environmental protection practices, which was introduced to prevent adverse impacts and promote people's quality of life where all stakeholders are given the high priority.

At the event, four more plants operated by Chemicals Business, SCG, received the certifications for supporting the data and promoting the "Eco-Word Class" certification of Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate. The certified plants are Thai Polyethylene Company Limited, Rayong Olefins Company Limited, Thai Plastic and Chemicals Public Company Limited, and Thai MMA Company Limited. The certifications signify companies' sustained commitment to encouraging all sectors toward a balanced development of business operations, enhancing the people's quality of life, and preventing environmental impacts. The goal is to advance toward a harmonious coexistence.

Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) has classified eco-industrial town into three tiers: ECO-Champion (level 1), ECO-Excellence (level 2), and ECO-World Class (top tier), along with certifications for supporting the data and promoting the "Eco-Word Class" certification of Industrial Estate, and Eco-Factory certification.
