SCG, IEAT, and 13 Alliances Promote “Waste is Resource” Mentality, Teaming up with Young People for Beach Cleanup in Rayong

Rayong – 19 September 2020 Chemicals Business, SCG, led by Mr. Charoenchai Prathuangsuksri, Managing Director of Rayong Engineering & Plant Service Company Limited (REPCO), and Miss Namthip Samphowprasert, Brand Management and CSR Director, co-organized “International Coastal Cleanup 2020 (ICC 2020)” with Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and 13 companies in Maptaphut and Banchang industrial estate in Rayong province.

The event aims to raise awareness of environmental issues on waste leaking into the ocean and promotes the concept of the Circular Economy. Over 2,000 volunteers in Rayong turned up for a beach cleanup.

The event provided education on waste separation and waste management at source to prevent waste leakage into the environment and reduce global warming from waste incineration.

“The Sea Saver - Young Gen” or the green-minded students from many schools also joined the event and showcased their musical talents with a performance of their self-composed song “Love to Separate.” The song intends to inspire young people and the public to solve environmental problems by adopting proper waste separation and disposal.
