10 companies of SCG Chemicals Win Green Industry Award, Emphasizing Leadership in Innovation and Sustainability Moving Toward Entire green supply chain

Rayong Olefins Co., Ltd. (ROC), a subsidiary of SCG Chemicals, a leading producer of olefins in Asia Pacific has been awarded Green Industry Level 5, the highest rating of Green Industry from Mr. Somchai Harnhirun, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry in the Green Industry Award 2017 ceremony.

In addition to the accomplishment, other subsidiaries of SCG Chemicals have also achieved Green Industry Level 4 (Green Culture) in 2017 from Mr. Mongkol Pruekwatana, Director-General of Department of Industrial Works (5th left front row) and Mrs. Anong Paijitprapapon, Deputy Director - General of Department of Industrial Works (6th left front row). The additional 9 awards have made a total of 11 factories of SCG Chemicals obtaining green industry accreditation. The companies that win awards are as follows:

1. Grand Siam Composit Co., Ltd  (Receive awards for 2 factories)
2. Thai MFC Co., Ltd.
3. Thai MMA Co., Ltd.  (Receive awards for 2 factories)
4. Thai Plastic and Chemicals Public Company Limited.
5. Thai PET Resin Co., Ltd.
6. Map Ta Phut Tank Terminal Co., Ltd
7. Rayong Terminal Co., Ltd
8. Siam Mitsui PTA Co., Ltd.
9. Siam Stabilizers and Chemicals Co., Ltd.

The award has reflected SCG Chemicals’ strong commitment to continuous development and improvement of the manufacturing process and its engagement to build an entire green supply chain. Besides, it is endeavoring to push the Thai industry sector to embrace environmentally friendly approach and create a sustainable coexistence between factories and communities.

Green Industry Project

“Green Industry Project” has been launched by the Ministry of Industry since 2011 to promote the industry sector to operate activities with sustainability and eco-friendly business practices as well as adhere to corporate social responsibility. These core elements will allow the society to stay happily together with the industry. Green Network aims at developing and improving a sustainable environmental management system as well as being responsible for the society both inside and outside the organization throughout the supply chain.
