Fulfilling its pledge to restore marine resources, elevate the quality of life in communities, and bring efficient waste management to coastal areas and communities, the Chemicals Business, SCG, has launched the Recycled Fish Home Project, in collaboration with the Office of Marine and Coastal Resources Administration 1 (MCRA) in Rayong.

Drawing on the concept of circular economy, the Chemicals Business has combined plastic waste collection from the beach and communities with virgin plastic resins to produce pipes and create recycled fish homes. Preliminary tests have shown that these recycled pipes do not differ in properties from leftover PE100 pipes from trial production. The goal is to incorporate as much plastic waste into the fish home pipes as possible, which will serve as another efficient and eco-friendly way of recycling plastics.
