SCG™ HDPE pipe compounds are manufactured using Mitsui’s bimodal technology with a high efficiency catalyst specifically designed for pipe applications. Our world-class standard properties are: excellent processability, a good long term creep property, high resistance to slow crack growth, resistance to rapid crack propagation, and low sagging for big size pipes.

 

Our materials, SCG™ HDPE, are on the PE100+ Quality Materials List. They passed testing and are certified for worldwide standards by internationally recognized bodies, such as EXOVA, GOST, DIN, AENOR, LNE, INSTA, and KRV.


The SCG™ HDPE pipe compounds are available in various grades for both pressure and non-pressure pipe applications, such as water pipes, gas pipes, mining pipes, and drainage pipes.

Chemicals Business, SCG has partnered up with the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) in Thailand’s first-ever underwater pipeline installation project, featuring a freshwater water pipeline of approximately 20 kilometers from Khanom District in Nakhon Si Thammarat to Samui in Surat Thani. The subsea pipes are made with the world’s first PE112, a resin developed by SCG that affords 10% greater pressure resistance in comparison to PE100 available on the market. The material helps ensure that the pipes meet required safety standards and achieve maximum efficiency. The “Samui Submarine Water Pipeline Construction” Project is set to enhance the efficiency of the island’s infrastructure and alleviate water scarcity, which will in turn boost its tourism industry and the economy of the country. The submarine pipeline construction project between Phun Phin District and Koh Samui, Surat Thani, is Thailand’s first submarine pipeline installation that involves large pipes -- 800-millimeter PN 10 HDPE pipe -- which will be 20 kilometers in length and laid on the sea bed. As such, PWA has attached great significance to the process of selecting experts to design and oversee the construction and chosen Wiik & Hoeglund Plc., an experienced expert on underwater pipeline construction, which ultimately led to cooperation with SCG Chemicals as the manufacturer and developer of the innovative EL-Lene™ H112PC black polyethylene compound. SCG HDPE H112PC is classified as a MRS 11.2 material (PE112). It provide superior long - term hydro static strength balancing with high slow crack growth and rapid crack propagation resistance. It has been designed for better safety factor in long-term use. Besides that, it can be produced in all range of pipe diameters, especially recommended for the production of very thick wall and large diameter pipe.

In addition, it includes a good dispersion of carbon black pigment and anti-oxidant to ensure excellent long term in UV resistance and thermal stability.

Chemicals Business, SCG has partnered up with the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) in Thailand’s first-ever underwater pipeline installation project, featuring a freshwater water pipeline of approximately 20 kilometers from Khanom District in Nakhon Si Thammarat to Samui in Surat Thani. The subsea pipes are made with the world’s first PE112, a resin developed by SCG that affords 10% greater pressure resistance in comparison to PE100 available on the market. The material helps ensure that the pipes meet required safety standards and achieve maximum efficiency. The “Samui Submarine Water Pipeline Construction” Project is set to enhance the efficiency of the island’s infrastructure and alleviate water scarcity, which will in turn boost its tourism industry and the economy of the country. The submarine pipeline construction project between Phun Phin District and Koh Samui, Surat Thani, is Thailand’s first submarine pipeline installation that involves large pipes -- 800-millimeter PN 10 HDPE pipe -- which will be 20 kilometers in length and laid on the sea bed. As such, PWA has attached great significance to the process of selecting experts to design and oversee the construction and chosen Wiik & Hoeglund Plc., an experienced expert on underwater pipeline construction, which ultimately led to cooperation with SCG Chemicals as the manufacturer and developer of the innovative EL-Lene™ H112PC black polyethylene compound.
